Frequent visitors of Jenin know that the city sustains itself from its marketplace: The merchants bake bread and pastries, call loudly the prices of tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce or beans, and roll cigarettes. While locals shop sell food and other household wares, the market for internationals is often more exciting than any other sight in the city. The video shows a typical visit to the market of Jenin. Those who never visited it do not know Jenin.
The song “Li'anni Shab” in the video is by the Palestinian singer Nadin Burqan. The 19-year-old is from East-Jerusalem and studies music in Denmark.
